During the past few months the WS NSW Roadshow Program has been busy travelling through NSW visiting over 119 Schools and Community Groups whilst presenting to 13,200 students/attendees. We have visited 5 separate regions during our Regional Roadshow Trips, and have felt so welcomed in each of these communities.
Some of the Regional Schools that we have had the pleasure of visiting are:
Ulladulla High Karabar High
St Bede’s Primary Jindabyne Central
Queanbeyan South Public Berrigan Public
Central Tilba Public Junee Public
Bredbo Public Mackillop College, Port Macquarie
Michelago Public William Bayldon, Sawtell
Queanbeyan East Public Grafton High
Bomaderry High Bonalbo Central
Weethalle Public Cape Byron Steiner
Ashmont Public Kyogle High
Mount Austin High Emmanuel Anglican College
Tweed Heads Public Summerland Christian College
Our Wheelchair Sports NSW Roadshow Regional Trips are usually a week-long visit, but due to the overwhelming response in the South Coast Region and Northern Region, both of these trips were extended over two weeks.
Our Sydney School bookings have been extremely busy with the Roadshow Schedule only having a few days left available for the remainder of the school year. With many of the schools rebooking each year, 2019 is shaping up to be another busy year for the WS NSW Roadshow.
Another exciting outcome for the Roadshow was a recent visit to the WS NSW office from Roads Minister Pavey MP, The Minister for Planning and the Minister for Housing Anthony Roberts MP and Mark Coure (Member for Oatley) to deliver a cheque for $50,000. As mentioned earlier in this Pushers Post, these funds will be used to complete a new set of wheelchairs to be used in the Roadshow vans.
I would like to thank all of my Roadshow Presenters for their dedication and hard work over the past year. Brendon Talbott, Rick Engles, Catherine Nelson, Kaitlyn Brown and Paul Ashley, Thank you!
The Wheelchair Sports NSW Roadshow is looking for new staff to join our team of Presenters. If you are interested in wheelchair basketball, comfortable speaking to people, have flexible working days and enjoy working with a great team, the Roadshow Program would be an ideal fit for you!
If you are interested in finding out some further information on what the position entails, please contact – Mel Jones, Roadshow Manager on 9809 5260 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
If you or anyone you know attends school, perhaps you can assist Wheelchair Sports NSW by promoting the Roadshow Program to the school Principal or PDHPE Teacher. It is a unique and educational road safety / wheelchair basketball program for Primary and High School students.
Our Program is supported by Transport for NSW and also covers topics covered in PASS classes and PDHPE classes for high school students.
