WHAT IS IT?
A twenty minute presentation at your school, on road safety, disability awareness or physical activity and sport, by one of our presenters who lives with a disability, followed by a 40 minute game of Wheelchair Basketball or Wheelchair AFL, played by the students. This provides the students a chance to experience something new, as well as giving them an idea of what it is like to be in a wheelchair.

WHERE?
We’ll come to you. Just make sure you have an accessible undercover basketball court, multipurpose area, hall, or quadrangle.
TAMWORTH SCHOOLS: Our experiences are held at Tamworth Dome. Please call Catherine on 0429 922 108 to discuss availability.
SESSION SIZE?
We recommend groups of 20-25 per session as this maximises the time the students can experience playing sport in a wheelchair. We bring 10 wheelchairs with us on the day, and have portable hoops if you need them. If you have more than 25 students per session, please email us to discuss other options for your school.
TOTAL SESSION TIME?
Each session is one hour, with a minimum booking of two hours at your school. We are happy to work in with your school timetable. You need to factor recess and lunch times around the one-hour sessions. Teacher supervision is compulsory at all times.

SCHOOL TESTIMONIALS
"Wheelchair Sports went above and beyond organising a special experience for one of our students on top of our booking, which was extremely thoughtful and very much appreciated. Our presenter Brendon Talbott was fantastic. He made the day run so smooth and our students really enjoyed engaging in wheelchair basketball. All positive feedback and will definitely book again" - Abbotsleigh Senior School, Wahroonga
"Stephan was fantastic. He was approachable, funny and made the students feel at ease while engaging in their learning. Stefan spoke with great articulation and encouraged students to ask questions about the sport but also about him and his life. Students were fascinated and developed a stronger sense of empathy by the end of the session. Post session the students commented on how great it was and the lasting message of Stefan "see people in a wheelchair not as a disability but as their form of mobility" to wrap up the day stuck in their mind" - Chevalier College, Burradoo
"Wheelchair Sports NSW always presents a very engaging relevant presentation to our Yr10 students relating to their Driver Safety topic followed by a fun wheelchair basketball game where all students are included." - De La Salle College, Caringbah
"Our school, being a country school have never had this experience and they loved it! Thank you for including the country kids that are so often forgotten for these types of experiences" - Warialda High, Warialda
"Brendon was a passionate and engaging presenter who made sure the girls had a fantastic experience playing wheelchair basketball but also left with an understanding of the importance of safety and an appreciation of the challenges people with disabilities face in day to day life" - Mercy Catholic College, Chatswood
