Winter 2018 Junior Wheelies

School Holiday Camp

The April school holidays saw the return of the Junior Wheelie’s School Holiday Program for 2018!

Ten of our junior members came along to Alexandria Park Tennis courts for two jam-packed days of wheelie fun. Our juniors were introduced to basketball, tennis, rugby, balloon soccer, bowls, and other games.

On the Friday afternoon, WS NSW teamed up with City of Sydney Council and Ability Links to host a Youth Week Celebration, inviting other youth from the community to try out our inclusive sports.

The day was a huge success, with our junior members making new friends while playing more basketball, badminton, a Race on Rollers and sharing a BBQ lunch.

The holiday camp was very pleasing, and has helped to build partnerships and pathways in the community for more young people to be involved in wheelchair sports.

Don’t miss out on the next Junior Wheelie Holiday Camp in the July school holidays: 16-17 July. For more information on the holiday camp or any Junior news contact Jess McMahon: jessicam@wsnsw.org.au
