As Schools have settled into classes after the first term, the Roadshow Bookings have started to pick up in Term 2.
A lot of promotion has occurred with Councils and School Holiday Programs for the use of the Roadshow in Vacation Care Centres. During the Easter school holiday period we had the pleasure of visiting 10 vacation care programs. Primary school children from Kindergarten to Year 6 experienced a unique and educational road safety / wheelchair basketball program amongst their usual excursions in the holidays.
During the past few months our Roadshow Presenters have travelled across NSW on 3 separate Regional Roadshow Trips. We have visited regions such as Muswellbrook, Narrabri, Mudgee, Port Macquarie and Laurieton.
I am in the process of finalising a Regional Roadshow Trip to the Cowra, Forbes regions in August. If you know of any schools in these regions that would be interested in having the Roadshow Program, I have two dates left available – Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st August. Please ask schools to contact me.
I would like to thank Rhys Baxter for his hard work and dedication over the past 8 years as a Roadshow Presenter. Rhys has left the Roadshow Team to start a new job and I am positive that he will do amazing things in his new role. Best of luck Rhys!
The Wheelchair Sports NSW Roadshow is looking for new staff to join our team of Presenters. If you are interested in wheelchair basketball, comfortable speaking to people, have flexible working days and enjoy working with a great team, the Roadshow Program would be an ideal fit for you!
If you are interested in finding out some further information on what the position entails, please contact – Mel Jones, Roadshow Manager on 9809 5260 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
If you or anyone you know attends school, perhaps you can assist Wheelchair Sports NSW by promoting the Roadshow Program to the school Principal or PDHPE Teacher. It is a unique and educational road safety / wheelchair basketball program for Primary and High School students.
Our Program is supported by Transport for NSW and also covers topics covered in PASS classes and PDHPE classes for high school students.
