WSNSW Lawn Bowl trio to take on worlds best.

Three Wheelchair Sports NSW members are gearing up to fly the flag for Australia at the upcoming International Bowlers with a Disability World Championships being held at the Lower Hutt and Nenae Bowling clubs in Hutt City, New Zealand.

Carolyn Nelson, Lynn Smith and Doug Lambert are all making their way over the ditch this weekend in order to compete at the international competition which takes place from the 16th-27thFeburary. Selected as part of a 14 strong team across the B5 to B8 categories, the three NSW based players will look to take in some good form and give their best efforts against some a field of international calibre Bowlers.

The Australian Team, led by respected Head Coach Jan Palazzi,  heads over on Sunday in order to begin the competition proper  on Tuesday the 17th February.

The last World Championships held in was held in Pretoria back  in May 2011, and saw Carolyn Nelson come home with a Gold  Medal in the B7/8 Ladies Pairs, and Silver in the B6 Ladies. Fingers crossed our trio can bring home some medals for  Australia and to show off at the WSNSW Singles Classic in May.
